- TRT - The move to online assessments gives rise to a distinctive set of challenges for school technology. This online tool gives schools a convenient way to capture and report on indicators of their technology readiness for the new Race to the Top Assessments. The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium and the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), working with the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) and Pearson, have developed the Technology Readiness Tool to support states as they transition to next-generation assessments. This open source tool will help state education agencies work with schools and districts to ensure readiness when the online assessments are launched by the two consortia, beginning in the 2014/15 school year. - Link

Great podcast. Thanks for all the information!
ReplyDeleteKeeping track of students in Moodle Learning Management System is also a plus. if you want different types of quizzes, different forums, a glossary, links, a chance to submit work, check grades, then you may think Moodle is great.
ReplyDeleteSean, Eric and Eric - I just caught this episode, a bit late! I was hoping that you all would explore using the Google suite as an open LMS, but no luck. I now hope that you will look into this as it interests me greatly. There is a G+ community exploring this issue "Using Google Apps as a Free LMS". Check it out.
